Open Letter to President Hassan Mohamoud By Mohamed Yusuf Halac President of the Khatumo State of Somalia

The President of the self-declared Khatumo State which claims the regions of Sool, Sanaag and Cayn (SSC) has written a letter to the President of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamoud. While it was always unlikely that the Khatumo administration, which in fact controls little of the territory it claims, would receive much in the way of direct moral or material support from Mogadishu the positive environment surrounding recent talks between the leadership of the internationally recognized government and the break-away region of Somaliland are likely to doom this letter to languishing in the President's in-tray.
